Under Singapore law, the only ground for divorce is the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage. This can be proven using one of six legally accepted facts: adultery, unreasonable behaviour, desertion for at least two years, separation for three years with consent, separation for four years without consent, or divorce by mutual agreement (DMA).
